Sizing Calculator Help
System Type: Select the type of system to be installed from the dropdown menu.
Climate:(Optional) - Select the type of climate from the dropdown menu.
It only has an effect if a heat pump is chosen for the system type. The default is Heating & Cooling
Elevation: Enter the elevation if known.
Load Calculation Data: Take the data from your load calculation and enter it into the corresponding boxes.
Calculate: Click the Calculate button to view the minimum & maixmum limits for sizing.
It is also used to check if the manufacturer's specs entered meet the requirements along with changes in elevation.
System Performance at Design Temp:Enter the manufacturers data for the system to be installed.
Be sure to use the same design temperatures used on the load calculation to look up the manufacturers data. If a heat pump is selected that is not a dual fuel system, enter the manufacturers btu output at the heating design temperature for sizing the auxiliary heat strips. A dual fuel system you would enter the furnace output & not the heat pump output.
Manufacturer's CFM rating at sea level : Enter the design CFM for the system
Depending on the elevation selected it will calculate the CFM needed to maintain the same mass flow rate.
